Scanning

The two scanners are identical but the programs look slightly different.
Scanner #1 on the computer is located at HP Scanning--the icon at the bottom of the screen. Click on Document scan. When the program opens up, click on Lejlibraryb which makes the file PDF (file must be saved as PDF to have a multiple page file). The other PDF options in the list will double-side when using the automatic document feeder.
To make a file smaller, you can change the final documents to gray scale or black & white, rather than the default Color. Once you've finished the document, you can't make any more changes to PDF files.

Scanner #2 on the computer is located at HP Solution Center. The program operates basically the same as #1.

It's possible to scan pages into a text recognizable format. Click on scan document, then select Text file OCR. There will usually be errors on the document when finished that you  have to correct.

If the documents jam in the auto document feeder you usually have to start from the beginning.
You can use both the auto doc feeder and the glass bed for a multiple page PDF file--just click on Add page when it's done.
